Pointing

Micah did the cutest thing today. When he woke up from nap, and I went in to get him (and he sat in his crib to savor his last few moments with froggie as has become his custom), he started pointing to all the different pictures on his sheets. He would look at me and wait for me to tell him what the pictures were before he would point to something else. It was really cute and cool to see him developing and realizing more and more new things about the world around him.

June Blessings

1. Seats together on the flights - The happy feeling of moving from row 6 to row 25 to be with Micah and Curt. The extra leg room seats (twice?). Getting to watch TV on the flights.

2. Good ER experience, getting to come home on time, Micah's quick recovery

3. The stroller - backing into with the car, but it still being able to be fixed

4. The surprising encouragement note and money - someone at church - paid for our "maine nebulizer"

Things from the past, that I maybe should write more about later, but I should make sure don't get forgotten now

Some of the ways the Lord has blessed us thus far...
Curt and I "meeting" - tearing ACL, delayed soccer game, the right time in my life
Honeymoon provisions - free week, traveler's check-esque experience, Westin/priceline
Move to Florida - peace about the decision, wonderful apartment, success at job
Pregnancy - timing, smoothness
Delivery
Nursing Success
Bruce's 30 dollar gift - after we "accidentally" gave too much in the Benevolent offering
When I locked my keys in the room at Liberty
Benign test results - skin
Curt's raise during the music guy conversation
Marcia being down the street
My job - flexible, engaging
Leah
Furniture - table, dryer, dresser/mirror, dresser/pantry
Kids crib money - almost threw away
Getaway money - really surprising wonderful gift from the church
Good friends in Florida
A church that is encouraging, supportive, convicting

"So Joshua called together the twelve men he had appointed from the Israelites, one from each tribe, and said to them, "Go over before the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan. Each of you is to take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the Israelites, to serve as a sign among you. In the future, when your children ask you, 'What do these stones mean?' tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever." Joshua 4:4-7

I want to have an answer when my children ask a question like this. Maybe even more importantly, I want my children to ask a question like this. I want to be able to share stories about how God has blessed and provided for our family. I want to be anchored by the truth of his provision even when my emotions tell me otherwise. I want my heart to overflow with gratitude for the God who has blessed me abundantly.

For these reasons, and others, I'm starting this blog. I'm going to do my best to go back and record some of the things that the Lord has done for me in the past 28 years and the last 6 years of walking this journey with my husband. I know that I've forgotten things from the past; I'm going to work on not getting so frustrated about the things that I've forgotten that I don't go ahead and resolve to start recording now.

1 Samuel 7:12 "Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, 'Thus far has the LORD helped us.'"
