Micah - (to me) "You have a pretty face. You have a pretty bottom."
Micah was saying some weird things at dinner. It seemed like he was quoting something, but we couldn't figure out what. Curt asked him "Where did that come from?" Micah responded, "from my mouth." So true!
And a basic quote, but one that never gets old. Mackenna spontaneously said, "I love you, mama," as I took her in her room after bathtime.

That a Boy, Buddy
We recently "loaned" our wooden play kitchen to some friends of ours who have the space that we do not have for it. My hope is that it will eventually come back to our house, but it just isn't a good fit for us right now (literally). My kids hadn't even noticed that it was gone...until just now. Mackenna asked where their kitchen was, and I told her it was at Audrey's house. Micah asked "why," and I started to say something about there not being room for it in their room anymore with another baby on the way. Instead, he finished my sentence with, "because we have everything we need in this room already?" What a great reminder. Yes, buddy, that is exactly right. We have everything we need already - nothing more is needed. The Provider has already met all of our needs!

A few goals for this week
After working hard to clean my house, I want to maintain its cleanliness this week. That means...
- running swiffer vac daily
- having kids put away toys before nap and bed each day (not just saying "oh, we'll do it later")
- running dishwasher nightly and unloading each morning, then keeping an empty sink during the day
- making bed each morning
Let's not talk about what my other goal for the week "should" be: potty training round 35

Maybe missing the point a bit
At lunch I asked Micah what he had learned about in Sunday School. He responded, "umm...I don't remember. But you can ask me about what toys I played with."
2 Mackennaisms
Yesterday while talking on her phone, I asked her to get ready to go to the store. She responded, very seriously, "Just a minute Mommy, I'm talking to Marcia." She then proceeded to have a very serious conversation with her.
Just now, I managed to pull off one of those chain of events that ends up with yogurt all over the floor. She looked at the mess and then looked at me and said, "It's okay, assidents happen."

Everybody panic!
Just remembered that Micah said that exact phrase when we were driving away from the severe thunderstorm that we were caught in in the Appalachian mountains. We were safe and the worst was behind us, and that is when he chose to exclaim "everybody panic!" While I had potentially been thinking this, I definitely had been telling him the opposite :)
Birthday party day quotes
Mackenna, At the grocery store: "I see God!" (Speaking loudly and about the tacky Catholic Jesus candles sold in the frozen section.)
Micah, coming out of his room for the umpteenth time: "I keep blessyouing." (We assume he sneezed.)

Some vacation quotes
On the morning of July 10th, Mackenna's first words to me when she woke up were "Am I three now?" Yes, sweet girl, you are.
The other night at dinner, from Micah (with similar comments from Mackenna), "when I get big, I can fly a plane and fly to Indiana and then pick up other people and they can fly with me"
They have really taken to calling each other "my sister" or "my brother" - and asking about each other constantly.
Mackenna looked at my belly the other day and very clearly asked me "how did she get in there" and "how is she going to get out"
